Recover From Autoimmune Disease
Autoimmune disease is when the immune system is mistakenly attacking various tissues in the body. Basically the immune system has lost tolerance to self. This can go on for years until finally enough tissues have been destroyed to the point that the person starts to experience symptoms. Autoimmune diseases are always progressive unless you identify and remove the underlying triggers. There is a world of difference in how a doctor who practices functional medicine versus a traditional medical doctor manages and supports a person with an autoimmune disease.
In my full-length video I will go over, in detail, that with functional medicine we identify, through specific lab testing, the underlying triggers specific to the person, and remove them.
Digestive disorders are one of the most common reasons for doctor office visits. In the traditional medical/gastroenterology world the solution is one of two things: medication or surgery. Unfortunately, this does always address the underlying causes and can often have very negative side effects. The tests done such as endoscopies and colonoscopies can rule out life threatening illnesses but do not look at the true underlying function of the digestive tract.
With functional medicine we do testing to look at the malfunctions such as, food sensitivities, gut infections. poor gut microbiome, pH balance, pancreatic, stomach and gallbladder function , brain-gut connection and many others. In most cases natural therapies can be done to restore the function. Even the father of medicine, Hippocrates, said “look to the gut there you will find the root of almost all human illness”.
